You+Me=we: “waves” June 17 ~ July 8 2026 Rio tera dei Biri, Cannaregio 5415, 5415, 30121 Venezia VE, Italy This exhibition, You + Me = We, is an omnibus exhibition project in which Korean artists present three independent stories woven together under a single theme in a narrative format. The exhibition runs from May 4 to August 30, 2026, and is composed of three sections. While each section possesses its own distinct character and narrative, they are closely interconnected. Through this structure, visitors are invited to experience the diverse facets of both traditional Korean art and contemporary art, and to explore the dynamic dialogue between the two. I want to say that when you and I come together, there are infinite possibilities for us and for each other to do. This exhibition creates stories of artists whose small stories come together to create a single world. We want to show that you and I can create a single community. This exhibition focuses not on the center of dominant narratives, but on the small voices that have remained at the margins. Unheard stories, fading emotions, and traces of people who have lost power within social structures are transformed into a new visual language through art. Here, art becomes more than representation—it becomes a way of revealing hidden emotions and unseen existences. “You + Me = we” is not simply a statement about community. It describes a condition that is constantly created and transformed through relationships with others. “we” is not a fixed identity, but a fluid connection formed through different people meeting, clashing, and resonating with one another. Togetherness, therefore, is not about forcing sameness, but about learning how to coexist while respecting difference. Through painting, objects, materiality, and color, the artists in this exhibition explore and question structures of power and desire. In contemporary society, authority exists not only in politics, but also within sensations of everyday life, in the language of human relationship, and even the sturctures of percepton itself. The artists reveal these invisible systems while imagining new ways of feeling, connecting, and understanding beyond them. A key concept of the exhibition is the “wave.” wave is not fixed; it is always moving and changing. Rather than forcing ideology or authority onto others, it is a flexible energy that accepts, adapts, and transforms through encounter. Instead of directly destroying oppressive systems, the wave slowly blurs boundaries and opens possibilities for new relationships. Ultimately, art becomes not simply a visual object, but a sensory wave that creates new voices and new connections. 《You + Me = we: wave》 invites us to reflect on how we sense one another’s existence and how we might imagine a shared future together. Series 2 참여 작가 김진숙, 나옥자, 박희원, 신규니, 이미영, 이정아, 전인수, 한귀원 이번 전시에 참여한 두 번째 시리즈는 주변부에 머물러 있던 이야기들, 작고 연약한 존재들, 들리지 않았던 목소리들, 그리고 힘을 갖지 못했던 존재들의 이야기를 예술적으로 드러낸다. 나는 ‘너’와 ‘나’가 함께할 때 우리에게는 무한한 가능성이 열리며, 서로를 통해 더 큰 가능성을 만들어 갈 수 있다고 말하고 싶다. 이번 전시는 각 예술가의 작은 이야기들이 모여 하나의 세계를 이루는 과정을 보여준다. 그리고 그 과정을 통해 ‘너’와 ‘나’가 함께 하나의 공동체를 만들어 갈 수 있음을 이야기하고자 한다. 이번 전시는 지배적인 서사의 중심이 아닌, 주변부에 머물러 있던 작은 목소리에 주목한다. 들리지 않았던 이야기들, 사라져가는 감정들, 그리고 사회 구조 속에서 힘을 잃어버린 존재들의 흔적은 예술을 통해 새로운 시각적 언어로 변환된다. 여기서 예술은 단순한 재현을 넘어, 숨겨진 감정과 보이지 않는 존재를 드러내는 하나의 방식이 된다. 《You + Me = we》는 단순히 공동체를 말하는 문장이 아니다. 그것은 타인과의 관계 속에서 끊임없이 생성되고 변화하는 상태를 의미한다. ‘우리(we)’는 고정된 정체성이 아니라, 서로 다른 존재들이 만나고 충돌하며 공명하는 과정 속에서 형성되는 유동적인 연결이다. 따라서 함께함이란 동일성을 강요하는 것이 아니라, 차이를 존중하며 공존하는 방법을 배우는 일이다. 이번 전시에 참여한 작가들은 회화, 오브제, 물질성, 그리고 색채를 통해 권력과 욕망의 구조를 탐구하고 질문한다. 오늘날 권력은 정치적 영역에만 존재하지 않는다. 그것은 일상의 감각 속에, 인간관계의 언어 속에, 그리고 우리가 세상을 인식하는 방식 자체에 스며들어 있다. 작가들은 이러한 보이지 않는 구조를 드러내는 동시에, 그 너머에서 새로운 감각과 연결, 그리고 이해의 가능성을 상상한다. 이번 전시의 핵심 개념 가운데 하나는 ‘파동(wave)’이다. 파동은 고정되어 있지 않으며 끊임없이 움직이고 변화한다. 그것은 이념이나 권위를 타인에게 강요하는 힘이 아니라, 만남을 통해 수용하고 적응하며 변화하는 유연한 에너지이다. 파동은 억압적인 구조를 직접적으로 파괴하기보다, 서서히 경계를 흐리고 새로운 관계가 형성될 수 있는 가능성을 열어준다. 결국 예술은 단순한 시각적 대상에 머무르지 않는다. 그것은 새로운 목소리와 새로운 연결을 만들어내는 감각의 파동이다. 《You + Me = we: wave》는 서로의 존재를 어떻게 감각 할 것인가, 그리고 함께 만들어갈 미래를 어떻게 상상할 것 인가에 대한 질문을 우리에게 던진다. 이봉욱 예술학 박사 평론, 전시기획, 아인 아트 컴퍼니 대표
